Accounts and public profiles

If you create an account, Supabase Auth processes your email address, password credentials and the session cookies needed to keep you signed in. Waifunani stores the display name, handle, optional bio, chosen character avatar and banner associated with your account. Your email address is not shown on your public profile.

Profile handles, display names, bios, chosen artwork, favourite characters and aggregate Battle statistics are public. Individual Battle records and the internal account identifier are not part of the public profile payload. Do not put private or sensitive information in your display name or bio.

To keep profile links recognisable and reduce impersonation and handle cycling, a handle can be changed at most once every 30 days. Display names and bios are not subject to this handle cooldown.

Browser preferences and essential storage

Finder preferences, character-list choices, the latest Battle choice and the number of anonymous preview battles used may be stored in your browser. Supabase uses essential session cookies when you sign in. Clearing site storage removes those preferences and signs you out, but it does not reset an account's ranked battle allowance.

The optional Data Cache, enabled by default, stores the public anime and character catalogue in this browser's local storage to make later page changes faster. It does not contain account data and can be disabled from Account & security; disabling it removes the saved catalogue from that browser.

Battle votes and favourites

Anonymous visitors can try three unranked preview battles. Preview choices are not inserted into the Battle table and never change Elo or community percentages. Ranked votes require a signed-in account; the server records the selected characters, rating changes, an idempotency key, the verified account link and an opaque account-activity hash. Daily limits are enforced by account across browsers. IP addresses and browser user-agent values are not used as voting identity.

Only signed-in accounts can add favourites to public community totals, with at most one favourite per account and character. Ranked votes are linked to the verified account in the same database transaction that records the vote. Account activity contributes to the aggregate statistics and favourites displayed on that account's public profile.

Service providers

Supabase provides authentication and database infrastructure. Google Fonts may receive ordinary request information when typography is loaded. Character and series artwork is served from Waifunani's own deployment; the source manifest records the AniList or MyAnimeList original used for editorial identification. Rights remain with the respective creators and rights holders.

Retention and removal

Account and profile data remains stored while the account is active. Settings provides self-service account deletion for the login, public profile, lists and uploaded avatar. Battle history is retained without its account link to preserve the integrity of shared rankings. Use the request process in the content policy for other access, correction or removal requests.

Analytics and advertising

Waifunani does not currently send product analytics or activate advertising from the reserved ad placements. This notice and any required consent controls must be updated before either is enabled.
